It was three years ago when his son Kyosuke left home to go to university in Tokyo, and two years ago when his father quit farming and went to Sendai to work, he remarried his wife Natsumi. His mother-in-law and son-in-law met only twice a year, during Obon and New Year's. And this summer, the mother and son will meet again after a long absence when they return to their home in a wooden house without an air conditioner. This year, the heat wave continues even more than usual, and the obscene sweat that colors Natsumi's whole body drives Kyosuke out of control, and he begins to think of Natsumi as a woman, not her mother.
